Fellow SU Geography Alumni,
As we start our annual letter, we would like to congratulate and welcome the Class of 2019 to SUGAA! Although your time at SU may have just ended, you have much ahead and should feel confident you have been well prepared! Last October, SUGAA hosted its 10th Annual SUGAA Homecoming Weekend BBQ. To celebrate our 10th Homecoming BBQ, we moved the venue to the Avery Street parking lot for some tailgate fun. We had a fantastic turnout with great weather! You can find several pictures from the event on the Events page of SUGAA.org. As has become the norm, this past year was a busy one for SU DoGG alumni with several engagements, weddings and births! Congratulations to all who have had these great life events! Additionally, our very own Dr. Mike Scott was named the Dean of the Henson School of Science & Technology. Congratulations Dr. Scott!
On Saturday, October 19th, SUGAA will hold the 11th Annual SUGAA Homecoming Weekend BBQ. For yet another change of scenery, we will be moving the venue to the pavilion adjacent to Sea Gull Square from 11am until 2pm. For those who may not know, Sea Gull Square is located between the Dogwood Drive parking lot and Rt. 13. You can park in the Dogwood Drive parking lot. We will be having traditional grilled food including hamburgers, hotdogs and brats as well as chips and drinks. Check out our website and our Facebook page for more details as we get closer to the event. After the BBQ concludes we welcome the alumni and their families to join us at one of several local establishments to continue the festivities!
As a reminder, for those entering the work world and those wanting to make a move, check out the SUGAA Facebook page and the Job Opportunities page of SUGAA.org. Over the last year, we have posted many opportunities passed onto us by fellow alumnus and will continue to do so. These job opportunities ranged from entry level to mid-level positions at public and private sector employers alike. If you have any suggestions on trips, events, jobs or anything else feel free to send us an email at SalisburyUniversityGAA@gmail.com, post directly to the SUGAA Facebook page or use the Contact page of SUGAA.org. We are interested in having one alumnus from each graduating class to help grow the networking opportunities and recruit alumni to SUGAA. If you are interested in helping grow our Alliance please contact either Chris or Scott. Lastly, if you are interested in helping maintain the website including making updates, please let us know.
We look forward to another successful year and seeing at this year’s SUGAA Homecoming BBQ! It is a great time to catch up with the faculty and fellow geographers!
Respectfully,
Chris & Scott
