SUGAA Annual Letter – 2021

Fellow SU Geography Alumni,

Wow! It has certainly been an interesting time since the last letter. Hopefully this letter finds you and your families well and healthy. As we traditionally do, we would like to congratulate and welcome the Class of 2021 to SUGAA! While your last year was certainly a different experience, you have much ahead and should feel confident you have been well prepared! Case in point, we all know the magic behind those maps shown on every news outlet on TV and online! Two years ago in October, SUGAA hosted its 11th Annual SUGAA Homecoming Weekend BBQ. We moved to yet another venue on the main campus outside behind Sea Gull Square. We had a fantastic turnout with great weather! You can find several pictures from the event on the Events page of SUGAA.org.

The original plan was to look at a Spring 2021 event, but unfortunately nothing materialized. We are in the very early planning stages for Homecoming 2021 scheduled for Saturday, October 23rd. Many details still remain to be worked out and we welcome any suggestions. Please keep an eye out on the Events page on SUGAA.org for more information soon.

As a reminder, for those entering the work world and those wanting to make a move, check out the SUGAA Facebook page and the Job Opportunities page of SUGAA.org. Over the last several years, we have posted many opportunities passed onto us by fellow alumni and will continue to do so. These job opportunities ranged from entry level to mid-level positions at public and private sector employers alike. If you have any suggestions on events, jobs or anything else feel free to send us an email at SalisburyUniversityGAA@gmail.com, post directly to the SUGAA Facebook page or use the Contact page of SUGAA.org.

We are interested in having one alumnus from each graduating class to help grow the networking opportunities and recruit alumni to SUGAA. If you are interested in helping grow our Alliance please contact either Chris or Scott. Lastly, if you are interested in helping maintain the website including making updates, please let us know.

We look forward to getting back to the normal activities and seeing everyone at Homecoming or another event. It is always a great time to catch up with the faculty and fellow geographers! Until then, we wish you and your families health and success.

Respectfully,

Christopher Nallan, ‘07                         Scott Baker, ‘07
